Michael Schwartz Presents: Honduras With Chef Guillermo Caceres From 27 Restaurant

Our final Amara & Friends installment took place on September 26, with featured Honduran Chef Guillermo Caceres.

Guillermo started his culinary journey as a dishwasher at 27 Restaurant. He fell in love with the kitchen life and aspired to become a chef. Over the years, he progressed through different roles, mastering both cooking and management under Chef Jimmy Lebron. Now, as Area Chef de Cuisine for Freehand and Generator Hotels, he oversees acclaimed Miami venues like 27 Restaurant, Broken Shaker, and Hoja Taqueria, offering unique culinary experiences inspired by the local communities.

The evening began with guests sipping on sparkling Argentinian Brazzos wine or Amara crowd favorite; Calm Before The Coconut concocted with Brugal 1888 rum, Cachaça Amaro Montenegro, allspice, coconut, pineapple and lime. Passed appetizers included Grilled Oysters, Roasted Pumpkin, Pastelito De Yuca and Beef Salpicón.

Guests were seated and welcomed by Chef Michael Schwartz, Chef Guillermo, the culinary teams & Marvin Tapia with a heartfelt speech thanking everyone for their support.

Dinner was a beautiful showcase of Honduran dishes including Marinated Clams, Baleada, Snapper Asado and a final sweet treat of Rosquilla De Miel.

The event was co-hosted with Hispanic community leader Marvin Tapia, with 10% of all ticket proceeds from the dinner series going towards Viernes Culturales, a non-profit dedicated to promoting and preserving Hispanic and Latinx arts and culture in Miami’s historic Little Havana neighborhood.
